Reopening – What to Expect Fall 2020

Welcome back to MK Dance On Hudson

KEEPING SPATIAL. STAYING SOCIAL.

While we continue to adapt, please review below the temporary changes in place for our Fall reopening. We have worked diligently to put in place new safety measures and have made every effort to meet or exceed all requirements to keep you and our staff safe, healthy and dancing.

(please check often as additional changes may occur as needed)

STUDIO MODIFICATIONS

  • There will be regular cleaning and disinfecting of the studios by an outside service. In addition, highly touched surfaces such as; door knobs, ballet barres, countertops, handrails, bathroom faucets, etc., will be wiped down/disinfected throughout the day. Teachers will disinfect stereo and barres between each class. Floors will be cleaned at the end of the morning and evening sessions.
  • Most free-standing furniture will be temporarily removed from the lobby (VFW) to discourage social gathering.
  • All studios will have additional hand sanitizing stations.
  • Hallways and stairways will have directional markings to help ensure a safer traffic flow.
  • Postings will be displayed throughout the studios to remind everyone of safety protocols including spatial distancing.
  • Studio floors will be clearly marked, with one student per spot, to ensure spatial distancing between students during class.
  • VFW studio will be equipped to provide simultaneously hybrid classes via ZOOM for those choosing our virtual dance option.

PROCEDURE UPDATES

  • No one will be admitted into either MK Dance On Hudson facilities without a mask that covers both the nose and mouth.  Children under 2 will not be required to wear a mask.
  • For VFW Studio, drop-off will be at the front entrance. Pick-up will be at the back (parking lot side). For Farragut Studio, students will wait in cars until the door is opened by staff to let you in.
  • Students should not arrive more than 5-10 minutes prior to their class to assure a better traffic flow.  Students must wait spatially distanced if waiting outside.
  • We request that students enter the building by themselves. If necessary, parents for students 7 & under will be allowed to drop-off and pick-up their children inside the studio.
  • EVERYONE entering the building will have a contact free temperature check whether they are a student or an adult dropping off.
  • The office and waiting areas will be closed during classes except to staff and students. If necessary, one adult per student for Preschool classes will be permitted to wait with a mask and in designated areas adhering to spatial distancing
  • ALL in-person and hybrid classes will have a strict student limit based on the studio size.
  • Students registering for filled classes may alternatively register for live virtual classes. Additional virtual classes may be added to the schedule.
  • Entry and Exit from classes will be altered to ensure spatial distancing.
  • All student belongings should be brought into the studio and contained in their own dance bag/backpack. Students attending classes should travel light, leaving non-essentials at home.  Students should come dressed in dance attire, with hair up.
  • No shared props will be used that cannot be easily disinfected after each use.
  • Classes have been scheduled as best as possible so that there is no or minimal wait time for most students.  If a student must wait between classes, it must be done in designated areas, at least 6 feet apart, and masks must be kept on.  Students may also opt to leave the studio between classes with parental permission.
  • All social gathering areas such as the dressing room will be closed until further notice.
  • Bathrooms will remain accessible, limited to one person at a time.
  • Highly touched surfaces such as; door knobs, ballet barres, countertops, handrails, bathroom faucets, etc., will be wiped down/disinfected throughout the day. Teachers will disinfect stereo and barres between each class.
  • Students may bring water bottles, if needed, and should be properly labeled.
