STUDIO POLICIES

VFW STUDIO 558 Warburton Avenue. Our Private Parking lot is in the back of the building on Whitman Street - USE GPS: 47 Whitman Street (side street between Main St & Villard Ave)

• Please only park in designated parking spots. There are 4 additional designated spots on Whitman Street
• Entrance to the studio is on the front side of the building which can accessed from Warburton Avenue or Whitman Street

22 MAIN ST STUDIO

• Municipal parking lirectly across from the studio as well as street parking on Main St

Absences:  Please call or email the studio if your child will be absent. 

Make-ups: A make-up class can be scheduled at an alternate class. All make-ups must be made within two (2) weeks of missed class. No more than two (2) per semester will be allowed. All make-ups must be done within the same semester.

Refunds: There are no refunds after the first 2 weeks of class. The annual registration fee is non refundable and will be deducted from the refund. A credit will be considered for a long term illness or injury.   

Late Fee: Payments not received within 2 weeks of student’s start date will incur a late fee as set forth on the semester fee schedule on web site.

Enrollment: MK Dance On Hudson reserves the right to cancel any class that is under enrolled.

No cell phone use during the class

No Photos/Videos: To respect the privacy of the other students, we ask that there are no photos or videos taken during class.

No Rough Physical Contact:

There is absolutely NO hitting, kicking, pushing, or other rough physical contact allowed in the studio. Any student who engages in this behavior will be asked to sit out and may be dismissed from class. Continued behavior may result in dismissal from the studio. This type of behavior is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.

No Foul Language, Harassment, or Teasing:

Swearing, harassing, bullying, or teasing others is not tolerated under any circumstances.

Students who engage in this behavior will be asked to leave class. Continued behavior may result in dismissal from the studio. We are here to work together as a team, support one another, and create a positive environment for everyone.

No Running:

For everyone's safety, running is not permitted in the studio. This includes the dance rooms, hallways, and back room. Students are expected to walk at all times while inside the studio.

Drop-Off Classes: 

• Please be sure that the dancers have a chance to use the bathroom before class begins. This will help eliminate disruptions during class...thank you!
• In the drop-off classes, parents and caregivers are asked to wait outside the studio during class.
• Arrival ~ Please make every effort to arrive on time. if a student is more than 15 minutes late, It is up to the teacher of the class whether the student can participate or will need to sit and watch. This is for their safety as they do need to be warmed up properly at the beginning of class.
• Dismissal ~ Please be on time! Students will be dismissed by the teacher: VFW Studio, please wait outside the back door (by the parking lot) & Main St Studio, please wait outside the front door.

Toddler & Me Classes:

• Food, drinks and toys (including pacifiers, bottles, and transitional objects) should not be brought into the class, as they serve as distractions to others and are not easily shared. No eating during the class. Children will quickly learn the classroom routine.
• Arrival: Please make every effort to arrive on time. The first few minutes of class are especially important for your child to explore, ramble and socialize BEFORE the teacher begins the class. Omitting this valuable “free” time is sometimes frustrating for a child and makes it difficult to join in the “structured time”.
• Be sure to remember that each child will respond to the class in their own unique way. Some children explore and move constantly while others may need extra reassurance by being held. Follow your child’s initiative: hold them or give them distance as they require but always remain an active participant yourself.
• You are your child’s most important teacher and example.  Through our own (parent, caregiver and teacher) example we teach the advantages of careful listening and focus, kindness to others, joyful participation, and appreciation for everyone’s efforts. Your willing example in the adult/child classes will help to ensure a climate of accomplishment and fun.

MK Dance  On Hudson will generally follow the Hastings Public Schools. MK Dance will send an email and post on the website if there is a delay or cancellation. MK Dance On Hudson is not responsible to make-up for snow day or inclement weather closings.
